Swanson receives AMCC Men’s Swimmer of the Week award

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona freshman Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, Pennsylvania/Clearfield) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Nov. 11.

Swanson had a hand in three total first place finishes for the Lions in a dual meet win at nonconference opponent Juniata College this past Saturday. The freshman won two individual swims and was also part of a first place finish in a relay event.

Swanson won the 200 SC Meter IM with a time of 2:19.37. He also took first in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle, logging a time of 4:23.03. Additionally, Swanson was part of the team that won the 200 SC Meter Relay with a combined time of 1:48.77.

Penn State Altoona defeated Juniata 96-50 in the meet.

This is Swanson’s first collegiate AMCC Men’s Swimmer of the Week award, and it is the first time this season that a Lions men’s swimmer has earned the honor.

Penn State Altoona men’s swimming returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, when the Lions will host their home opener against AMCC opponent Alfred State College.
