NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Celebrating day two of the NCAA Division III Week, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced its 2019-20 Peak Performer teams on Wednesday morning, honoring the conference teams with the highest cumulative grade point averages in their respective sports.
For their work in the classroom this year, two Penn State Altoona teams were recognized as the AMCC’s Peak Performers in their sports for 2019-20: the men’s basketball team and the men’s swimming team.
For Penn State Altoona men’s basketball, it marks the first time in program history that the Lions have earned a team Peak Performer award for having the highest GPA among all AMCC men’s basketball teams. Meanwhile, the men’s swimming team has been a regular winner of the award since its inception, as this is the eighth time in program history that the Lions have earned Peak Performer status from the AMCC.
Penn State Altoona men’s basketball compiled a team GPA of 3.009, while the men’s swimming squad earned a team GPA of 3.308.
GPAs for the AMCC Peak Performer team awards are based on teams’ cumulative GPAs through the conclusion of the Fall 2019 semester.
