reasons to be pretty centers on four young working class friends and lovers who become increasingly dissatisfied with their dead-end lives and with each other. Relationships are tested, and truth, fidelity, and trust are all called into question. The play is a raw and insightful look into the impact beauty has on our lives examining the age-old question, how much is pretty worth?
reasons to be pretty was written by Neil LaBute. In 2009, it was nominated for three Tony Awards and won a Drama Desk Award and a Theatre World Award. The production is directed by Naomi Baker, assistant teaching professor of theatre and integrative arts.
