NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona sophomore Andrew Lesnett (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Lesnett had a banner day for the Lions in Saturday’s SUNY Delhi Fall Invitational, winning all four events in which he swam. His performance helped Penn State Altoona place first out of four teams with a total of 344 points.
Lesnett recorded a pair of individual wins, placing first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:52.72 and taking first in the 100 Yard Freestyle by clocking in at 51.29. He also helped his team win two relay events, as he and his teammates combined for a time of 1:49.37 to place first in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and a time of 1:37.49 to win the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
This is Lesnett’s first career AMCC Swimmer of the Week award.
The Penn State Altoona men’s swimming team’s next meet is Saturday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m., when the Lions will travel to face non-conference opponent Bethany College.
