Penn State Altoona's Office of Strategic Communications carries out branding and marketing strategies to ensure that the college's image reflects our mission and Strategic Plan.
We collaborate to develop communication and publicity strategies, presenting the best of Penn State Altoona and ensuring that the college's image reflects the excellence of Penn Staters as inspired do-ers who are passionate about making a difference in the world beyond their own achievements.
Due to the high volume of requests Strategic Communications receives on a daily basis, we advise everyone to refer to the request forms and instructions.
What We Do
Office functions and responsibilities—both for the college as a whole and for individual offices and programs—include the following:
- Web design
- Public relations
- Media relations
- Community relations
- External and internal communications
- Publication and graphic design
- Advertisement and billboard design
- Video production coordination
- Social media management assistance
- Facilities rentals for external audiences
- Special event planning
Public relations—both internal and external—is important in creating a positive image of our college. Strategic Communications is available to assist faculty and staff in generating publicity for your offices, department, campus organizations, and all other University-sponsored events. Because of the workings of the media, official news releases should be sent only through, or with the approval of, the Office of Strategic Communications. All publicity should be coordinated through Strategic Communications.
The Office of Strategic Communications is located in the Beech House on campus.
