Senior students studying electro-mechanical engineering technology, mechanical engineering and rail transportation engineering will show how their knowledge from the classroom was used to enhance many organizations’ operations, products and services.
In addition to a petting zoo, there will be lawn games, mechanical bulls, a scavenger hunt, and Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream. Attendees will be able to plant their own herb or flower in donated coffee mugs while supplies last.
Penn State Altoona invites students, faculty and staff to a new community gathering, “Taking Time Together,” on Thursday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Belonging Center in room C112 of the Smith Building.

Penn State Altoona men’s volleyball landed a pair of players on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s all-conference team, which was announced on April 15. Opposite hitter Caleb Fries was voted the AMCC’s Newcomer of the Year and was also a first-team all-conference selection, while libero Adam Chan was a second-team all-conference pick.
The fair offers students a chance to share their research projects and other creative activities with the campus community, friends and family members through oral presentations, poster presentations and performances in categories including arts and humanities, health and life sciences, internships, business, nursing, engineering, information technology and performing arts.
Penn State Altoona is holding a textbook swap April 28 through May 9 in the Eiche Library. Students are welcome to leave any textbooks or course materials they don't want, take any that they need, or both.
“Workout,” an exhibition of student artwork, will be on display April 24 through May 5 in the McLanahan Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. This exhibition includes pieces from students in the Visual Art Studies program and general education art courses.
“Before I Wake,” a body of work by visual art studies student Maggie Parks, will be on display from April 24 through May 3 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, in the Titelman Study of the center.
Swipe Out Hunger will run from Sunday, April 20, through the end of the spring 2025 semester for students to continue to donate their leftover dining dollars.
