Film by Penn State Altoona alumnus to premiere April 18

The documentary film "Blair County: A People's History," produced and directed by Penn State Altoona graduate Mark Frederick, will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Mishler Theatre in downtown Altoona. The documentary will be followed by a Q&A session with Frederick and the film’s executive producer.

Penn State Altoona to host storyteller Odd Rod

Penn State Altoona will host a performance by storyteller Odd Rod at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center. Odd Rod is a perseverance speaker who survived childhood traumas dealing with addiction, death and neglect. He has been voted five times as APCA's Spokenword Artist of the Year, and his use of authenticity in poetry, storytelling and multimedia provides a dynamically engaging performance of inspiration.

Penn State Altoona hosts exhibition of regional college students

Penn State Altoona will host “Local Mythos,” a juried exhibition organized by Penn State Altoona students currently enrolled in Art 365 and Art 496, from Feb. 15 through March 21, in the McLanahan Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The exhibition is free and open to the public. A reception will take place Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
