New collaboration expands educational opportunities in Pennsylvania

Penn State’s Commonwealth Campuses and the state’s community colleges have announced a new collaboration aimed at expanding educational opportunities in Pennsylvania and removing barriers to degree completion among college students. The collaboration builds upon long-standing relationships between the campuses and the community colleges and a shared commitment to access and affordability in higher education.

Penn State Altoona Health and Wellness Fair set for March 19

Penn State Altoona will host a Health and Wellness Fair from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, in the Auxiliary Gym of the Adler Athletic Complex. The event will feature interactive booths with information about mental health, physical health, sexual health, and alcohol and other drugs.

Penn State Altoona to present 'They Call Me Q' March 12

"They Call Me Q" tells the story of a girl from Bombay growing up in the Boogie Down Bronx who gracefully seeks balance between cultural pressure and acceptance into American culture. Along the journey, Qurrat Ann Kadwani transforms into 13 characters that have shaped her life, including her Indian parents, Caucasian teachers, Puerto Rican classmates, and Indian and African-American friends.

The 13th class of Sheetz Fellows was inducted during a formal ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 24. A competitive academic program, Sheetz Fellows offers unique opportunities that ignite and inspire the entrepreneurial mindset of students at Penn State Altoona by fostering critical thinking, ingenuity, leadership and problem-solving skills.
