71 Student-Athletes Earn Spots on Academic All-Conference Team

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference continued its celebration of NCAA Division III Week on Wednesday, announcing its 2017-18 Academic All-Conference Team.

The AMCC’s Academic All-Conference Team recognizes academic excellence by individual student-athletes from the conference’s member institutions. To be named to the team, AMCC student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher through the Fall 2017 semester.

This year’s Academic All-Conference Team included 71 Penn State Altoona student-athletes from across the school’s 14 varsity athletics teams. Out of that group, a total of 40 Lions and Lady Lions were Individual Peak Performers for compiling individual GPAs of 3.5 or higher during the 2017-18 year. Additionally, seven of those Penn State Altoona student-athletes will be inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Student-Athlete Honor Society for college juniors and seniors.

The 2017-18 AMCC Academic All-Conference Team is comprised of over 900 student-athletes in total.
