Formed in spring 2012, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club meets several times a week to practice this particular form of martial arts. The club teaches both sport and self-defense aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The club is open to anyone interested in learning or expanding their knowledge in the sport.
The club is advised and directed by Mr. George Kattouf. Mr. Kattouf has been the Director of the Academy of Martial Arts since establishing it in 1979. Mr. Kattouf is currently ranked in Brazilian Jiujitsu. He and many of the black belts receive instruction from the prestigious Yamasaki Academy under the direction of Francisco Neto. Mr. Kattouf holds a Master's Degree in Education and has been involved in the field of education since 1975. His experience and knowledge ensure that students will be educated using researched-based instructional principles. He believes all students can be successful if provided with the repetition and structure necessary to meet individual needs.
