PENFIELD, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona men’s golf student-athlete Peter Nusbaum, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, was named to the 2025 NCAA Division III PING All-Region V team on May 18 during the DIII Men’s Golf Championship Banquet.

Nusbaum becomes the first student-athlete in Penn State Altoona men’s golf history to earn All-Region honors. He was one of 15 men’s golfers in the NCAA Division III’s Region V to earn the recognition.

Last fall, Nusbaum was the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Golfer of the Year, won the AMCC individual title and was a first-team all-conference selection. He is leading the Lions in scoring average during the 2024-25 season, shooting a team-low 73.0 per round through 19 rounds. Nusbaum twice matched Penn State Altoona’s all-time low score this season, as he shot 67 in day two of the AMCC Championships on October 15, then duplicated that score during day two of the Pennsylvania Classic on March 30.

Penn State Altoona men’s golf won its ninth-ever AMCC Championship last October, and the Lions will make their eighth NCAA Division III postseason appearance this week. Day one of the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship is May 20, at Midvale Country Club. Penn State Altoona’s tee times for round one are set to begin at noon.
