A series of poems by Erin Murphy, professor of English, appears in the fall 2017 issue of The Summerset Review. The poems are based on Murphy’s late mother-in-law, Ann Palmer De Prospo, an accomplished musician. Excerpted from Murphy’s forthcoming book, Assisted Living, the poems are demi-sonnets, a seven-line form she invented.
