Patricia Jabbeh Wesley serves as judge for poetry contests

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English, was selected by the North Carolina Poetry Society to be the final judge of the 2016-2017 Lena Shull Book Contest in which she chose Jan Harrington's book, Waiting for the Hurricane.

Wesley was also selected as a judge of the 2017 Brunel International African Poetry Prize, a major annual poetry prize of £3000 aimed at the development, celebration and promotion of poetry from Africa. Now in its fourth year, this year the prize is sponsored by Brunel University and Commonwealth Writers based in the UK.
