Penn State Altoona Welcomes New Faculty

Penn State Altoona opened its 2019–2020 academic year by welcoming eight new faculty members representing the fields of business, sciences, and humanities. They join more than 300 other professors and instructors teaching nearly 3,300 students.

Peter Hopsicker, interim associate dean for Academic Affairs, says the new faculty “bring a diverse range of experiences and expertise” to campus. “We are delighted to welcome an accomplished group of scholars to our faculty this year, and we look forward to supporting them as they advance Penn State Altoona's mission of teaching, research, and service.”

The new faculty are:

  • Nathan E. Kruis, Assistant Professor, Criminal Justice
  • Candice Landry, Assistant Teaching Professor, Geography
  • Jessica M. Showalter, Student Engagement and Outreach Librarian, Eiche Library
