Senior third baseman Dylan Bates (Towanda, Pennsylvania/Towanda) went 4-for-6 at the plate in his team’s wins over Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday, May 4, in the first round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament, including hitting the go-ahead RBI double in game one. Junior outfielder George Stiuso (Milford, New Jersey/Gill St. Bernard’s) hit a walk-off RBI single for the Lions in game two.

Sixth place at the Elmira College Spring Invitational
Freshman golfer Ethan Yohe (Murrysville, Pennsylvania/Franklin Regional) fired a team-best 83 for the Lions in the Elmira Invitational on Tuesday, April 23, tying for 13th place out of 60 individual golfers at the event. Penn State Altoona compiled a team score of 342 to come in sixth place out of 12 teams.

Penn State Altoona softball finished its season strong, going 7-3 in its final 10 regular season Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games to secure a berth into the conference playoff tournament as the No. 6 seed. During that 10-game stretch, junior third baseman Abby Showers (Philipsburg, Pennsylvania/Philipsburg-Osceola) hit .378 with three doubles, a triple, and five RBI, while senior shortstop Haley Giedroc (Howard, Pennsylvania/Bald Eagle) batted .375 with nine RBI and four stolen bases.
