Jerry Zolten pens piece for Library of Congress's National Song Registry

Jerry Zolten, professor of communication arts and sciences and integrative arts at Penn State Altoona, is co-producer and principal narrator of the documentary “How They Got Over: Gospel Quartets and the Road to Rock 'n' Roll.”

A piece by Jerry Zolten was recently published in the National Song Registry of the Library of Congress. The piece is written about the Swan Silvertones gospel group and its version of "Oh Mary Don't You Weep" and lead singer Claude Jeters' impromptu line about a "bridge over deep water" inspiring Paul Simon's "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
