General Medicine Clinic
The general medicine clinic is provided for any condition that is not life-threatening or emergent. In this setting, your medical condition is evaluated, treated, and followed. Examples of conditions that we see include the following:
- Sore throats
- Fever
- Colds
- immunizations
- Viral Infections
- Flu
- Asthma
- Injuries (sprains, sutures, etc.)
- Allergies
- Headaches
- Women’s Health
- Routine Medical Exams/physical exams
- STIs/STDs
- And More
Laboratory Services
Health Services offers some on-site labs, including rapid COVID-19, rapid flu, rapid strep, mono spot, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, glucose, hemoglobin, and sexually transmitted infection testing. HIV testing is also offered. All tests and results are confidential. Other labs can be ordered by providers. Students requiring tests not done at the Health and Wellness Center can go to local labs or X-ray centers.
Medications
Health Services carries a variety of prescription and nonprescription medications on-site for students being evaluated. Pricing is moderate compared to outside resources. Students who wish to use their prescriptive insurance card may obtain electronic prescriptions to have filled at a local pharmacy.
How to schedule
Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling the Health and Wellness Center at 814-949-5540. If an appointment cannot be kept, the student must call and cancel. A no-show fee will be charged if the student fails to cancel.
