We are happy to waive the $65 application fee for students who visit Penn State Altoona or meet with a Penn State Altoona admissions counselor at a high school, college, or at a college fair.
Here’s what you need to do to receive an application fee waiver.
- Step 1: Visit Penn State Altoona
To register for a Penn State Altoona campus visit or admissions event, go to our Visit Us page. - Step 2: Get your high school transcript
Obtain an unofficial transcript of your grades from your high school guidance office. You'll need this to complete the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) portion of your Penn State application. - Step 3: Fill out your application
Fill out your Penn State application through MyPennState or the Common App. When you reach the section that asks for your credit card information or payment, stop. Do not enter payment information or submit. - Step 4: Submit the fee waiver request form
Complete the fee waiver request form below. After we receive your request, we will process your fee waiver and email you to confirm that your fee has been waived, allowing you to complete your application submission.
