Scholarship Facts

No additional application is needed for most Penn State Altoona academic scholarships. You are automatically considered for scholarships as part of your application to the University.

Most scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial need.

The average scholarship award is $4,100.

Students who are planning to enroll or are currently enrolled in an academic major that leads to graduation at Penn State Altoona who have completed two semesters with a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average or higher are reviewed for scholarships through the Penn State Altoona Majors Scholarship program. Financial need is required for most Penn State Altoona Majors Scholarships. Students selected to receive a scholarship in the Penn State Altoona Majors Scholarship Program are notified of their award. No application is required.
