Through her research on the relationship between nurses and their patients, Penn State Altoona Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing Linda Govere hopes to help create mutually positive, respectful, meaningful and effective relations and interactions among people with different ethnic, racial, religious, geographic and social backgrounds.
Leveraging dozens of faculty with an academic and research interest in sports, Penn State on Nov. 14 announced the creation of the Center for the Study of Sports in Society. The center will be charged with supporting research, teaching, public programs and service across Penn State related to the study of sport and its cultural, economic and social impact.
