The Penn State Altoona campus community is invited to view a live stream of John Kaag's thought-provoking lecture, "Morality in an Age of Hubris: What Matters Most and Why," Monday, January 29, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in room 138 of the Hawthorn Building.
The lecture will explore philosophies and perceptions about morality and its impact on shaping one's future. Kaag will inspire and engage the entire audience as he takes a unique look at ethics, integrity, and the reasons to be moral. What responsibility do we have in creating our own happiness? How do our choices define our character? Help answer the question, "Why be moral?"
The event is part of the 2018 Schreyer Honors College's 23rd Annual Mark Luchinsky Memorial Lecture series.
Kaag teaches philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is author of the best-selling book, American Philosophy: A Love Story. Kaag is a 2003 graduate of the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State in philosophy. He continued his academic career at the University of Cambridge and later earned a doctorate of philosophy from the University of Oregon in 2007.
