Four Altoona student-athletes earn CSC Academic Honors in women’s volleyball

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Four Penn State Altoona women’s volleyball student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Communicators for their success in the classroom as the CSC announced its 2024 NCAA Division III Academic All-District women’s volleyball team on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

To be eligible for a spot on the Academic All-District team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Academically, student-athletes must be at least sophomores while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. Athletically, players must be starters or key reserves who have played in at least 90 percent of their team's matches, or started 66% of the matches. Nominators could submit up to four qualified student-athletes per team.

The four Penn State Altoona women’s volleyball student-athletes named to the CSC’s NCAA Division III Academic All-District team are:

  • -LiberoAnna Batrus, of Altoona, majoring in business management and marketing
  • Middle blocker Taylor Myers, of Morrisdale, majoring in nursing
  • Middle blocker Makenna Port, Bellefonte, majoring in elementary and early childhood education
  • Outside hitter Lia Simanski, of Altoona, majoring in business
