
Four members of the Penn State Altoona tennis teams were recognized for their success in the classroom on Tuesday, May 14, being named to the College Sports Communicators’ NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams.
From the Penn State Altoona women’s tennis team, Isabella Rhoades, of Tyrone, Lauren Stich, of Ellwood City, and Rachel Stricek, of Tyrone, earned spots on the CSC’s DIII Academic All-District team. On the men’s side, Casey Hess, of Annville, took a spot on the CSC DIII Academic All-District squad.
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its 2024-25 Academic All-Conference team on April 10, including 120 Penn State Altoona student-athletes.
The AMCC's yearly Academic All-Conference team recognizes student-athletes from institutions across the league for achieving cumulative grade-point averages of 3.2 or higher, through the fall 2024 semester. Individuals on the list who compiled GPAs of 3.5 or higher earned a greater status of recognition, being tabbed as Peak Performers. The 2024-25 AMCC Academic All-Conference team is comprised of 1,123 student-athletes from the conference's member schools, including both full and affiliate members.
This year, a total of 120 Penn State Altoona student-athletes earned spots on the AMCC Academic All-Conference team. Out of that group, 80 student-athletes were recognized as Peak Performers. Additionally, 11 Penn State Altoona student-athletes were marked for induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college student-athlete honor society.
