Altoona student-athletes earn spots on CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

The NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Committee released its 43-team postseason field on Monday, May 6, including the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Penn State Altoona men’s golf team.

GREENWOOD, Ind. — A total of seven Penn State Altoona student-athletes from three different teams were named to the College Sports Communicators’ NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large team, which was announced on Tuesday, June 25.

The seven Penn State Altoona student-athletes who took places on the CSC’s NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large team were:

Women’s bowling:

  • Isabelle Forcey, of Clearfield, an elementary and early childhood education major
  • Kennedie Lauver, of New Berlin, a business major
  • Maddy Sosko, of Latrobe, an environmental studies major
  • Breanna Yarnall, of Bedford, a nursing major

Men’s golf:

  • Jack DiTrani, of Hinsdale, Illinois, an accounting major

Men’s volleyball:

  • Jared Kish, of Columbus, Ohio, a rail transportation engineering major
  • Willem Del Priore, of Seven Valleys, an education major

The CSC’s Academic All-District At-Large team is comprised of NCAA Division III student-athletes from 14 different sports. Nominators from each CSC member school could submit up to six nominees from men’s sports and up to six nominees from women’s sports.

To be eligible for a spot on the Academic All-District team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Student-athletes must be at least sophomores, both academically and athletically, while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher.

Women’s bowling nominees must have competed in a minimum of four competitions. For men’s golf, student-athletes must have played in 70% of the team’s total events. Men’s volleyball nominees must have competed in at least 90% of the team’s total sets or started at least 66% of the total matches.
