Penn State Altoona to present art work by visual art studies senior Lexie McKee

“The Way the Abuse Worked,” an exhibition by visual art studies senior Lexie McKee, will run April 7 through 15 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

ALTOONA, Pa. — “The Way the Abuse Worked,” an exhibition by visual art studies senior Lexie McKee, will run April 7 through 15 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. A reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the Titelman Study of the Center at Penn State Altoona. This exhibition is free and open to the public.

McKee is from Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, and intends to graduate from Penn State Altoona in May 2022 with a bachelor of arts in visual art studies. Her work portrays personal struggles she has endured and the emotions that followed.

“The Way the Abuse Worked” shows the emotions, mental illnesses, and the difficulty of processing trauma during and after an abusive relationship.
