Altoona LaunchBox to co-host cybersecurity webinars Oct. 5 and 19

ALTOONA, Pa. — Altoona LaunchBox supported by the Hite family and the Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center will host a free cybersecurity webinar series.

Session one will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to noon. It will focus on the key cybersecurity elements that every business should implement, whether from a building or home office. Registration for session one is available online.

Session two will be held via Zoom from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 19. Topics to be covered include simple steps for cybersecurity, how to take online payments securely, how you should and shouldn't store customer data, and what to do when you've been hacked. Registration for session two is available online.

The series is led by Kevin Slonka, director of cyber security at Sourceree, a cutting-edge technology company, and an information technology professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Slonka has taught at the collegiate level for 14 years and worked for various government contractors for the past 22.
