Ron Clark headlines Penn State Altoona Education Conference

ALTOONA – The Penn State Altoona Education Conference, featuring Ron Clark, will be held beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 5, at the Blair County Convention Center. Registration is $75, and includes a continental breakfast as well as lunch.

Known to many as "America's Educator," Clark pioneered innovative projects in rural North Carolina and Harlem working with minority students. His highly effective programs garnered national attention and led to a White House invitation to be honored by the president of the United States. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling book "The Essential 55" as well as "The Excellent 11," "The End of Molasses Classes: Getting Our Kids Unstuck--101 Extraordinary Solutions for Parents and Teachers," and "Move Your Bus: An Extraordinary New Approach to Accelerating Success in Work and Life."  He is the founder of The Ron Clark Academy, an inner-city school serving students from across metro Atlanta.

In addition to his many duties as an educator, Clark is a much sought after keynote speaker. He shares the uncanny adventures he has had in the classroom and speaks of his experiences teaching in Harlem. Within his humorous and heartwarming stories, he delivers a message relevant to each of us. It is a message of hope, dedication, and the never-say-never attitude required to achieve goals and dreams.

The Penn State Altoona Education Conference will also include three breakout sessions: Transforming Your School’s Culture, presented by Ashley Schroeder and Craig Caroff; Lights! Camera! Teach! - Transform Your Teaching, presented by Chris Pombonyo; and Transforming Your Students, presented by Jess Martin.
