Erin Murphy, professor of English, has been named poetry editor of The Summerset Review, a national literary journal which has had its poems featured in The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses and Best of the Net anthologies.

Murphy will take over in July for award-winning poet Meredith Davies Hadaway who has served as poetry editor for ten years. Founded in 2002 by editor Joseph Levens, The Summerset Review is published quarterly online. In addition to poetry, the journal features fiction, nonfiction, and reviews.

Murphy is the author or editor of nine books, most recently Assisted Living (Brick Road Poetry Press), Ancilla (Lamar University Press), and Creating Nonfiction: Twenty Essays and Interviews with the Writers (SUNY Press), winner of the Gold Medal in the 2016 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards. A tenth book, Bodies of Truth: Personal Narratives on Illness, Disability and Medicine, is forthcoming from the University of Nebraska Press.
