The film The Burden: Fossil Fuel, the Military and National Security will be shown at The Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A discussion will follow, featuring Brian Black, Distinguished Professor of history and environmental studies.

The film shows the many steps the U.S. military is taking to move away from dependence on fossil fuels to make it more effective and efficient in its national security mission. "This is a story unknown to most Americans," says Sylvia Neely, group leader for the State College chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby. "In this film, admirals, generals, colonels, captains, commanders and others speak on the record about what the military is doing in the areas of fuel and energy. It's well-done, compelling, and we encourage everyone to see it."

The event, sponsored by Citizens' Climate Lobby State College, is free and open to the public.
