Penn State Altoona’s Division of Student Affairs is collecting boxes of cereal for the St. Vincent DePaul Assumption Chapel Food Pantry in Altoona from Oct. 30 through Dec. 6.
Harriett Gaston has been named the 2023 honoree for the WISE Women of Blair County Tribute in Education. Gaston is the coordinator of minority programs at Penn State Altoona. As the honoree for the Tribute in Education, she is recognized for her work as a community historian and with the county’s African American Heritage Festival.
Harriett Gaston, an undergraduate studies adviser at Penn State Altoona, presented at the annual Pennsylvania Historical Association (PHA) conference held in October in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Penn State Altoona’s spring theatre production, “Circle Mirror Transformation” by Annie Baker, will run Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.
At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.
