Penn State Altoona will host a poverty simulation event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Auxiliary Gym of the Adler Athletic Complex. The poverty simulation is a campus-wide event involving students, faculty and staff as participants or volunteers.

Shihui Shen, professor of rail transportation engineering, has been conferred the status of distinguished professor, the highest professorial merit at the University. Shen is a leading scholar in railroad and highway infrastructure and materials.
