The arm motion is facilitated by a linear actuator, DC motor, and gear train that is operated via a custom-developed LabVIEW program.
Lumber Grading
The affordable hardwood grading system is fully automated and capable of grading green hardwood lumber. The system is affordable and adaptable, being used by smaller mills and lumberyards who are not high-speed production factories. With machine learning, the system is self-learning, capable of grading more accurately, and efficiently than a human grader.
