Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry, Chancellor and Dean at Penn State Altoona, is the recipient of the Kiwanis Club of Altoona's 2017 Distinguished Citizen of the Year award. The award is given to a person who was either born, raised, or moved to the area and has made considerable contributions on the local, state, or national level. Bechtel-Wherry received the award at a ceremony on September 27.
