Penn State Altoona alumnus stars in indie film

Penn State Altoona has announced the student marshals for fall 2024 commencement. Student marshals are chosen to represent their academic division based on outstanding academic achievement.

ALTOONA, Pa. — An indie film starring 2016 Penn State Altoona graduate Matthew Kresch will be released on several digital platforms on Friday, Oct. 11.

Set against the backdrop of a global pandemic, “Alone Together” follows Nassdja, portrayed by DeAnna S. Wright, a woman trapped in a toxic relationship with her boyfriend Luke, played by Kresch. The film is a suspense-filled journey blending horror, supernatural elements and psychological thrills.

Kresch graduated from Penn State Altoona with a degree in integrative arts and went on to earn an master of fine arts degree from the Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training.

“Alone Together” was screened at multiple film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Beloit International Film Festival and Lighthouse International Film Festival. It also was selected for several awards, including Best Supernatural Feature at the Philip K. Dick Film Fest and Best Horror Feature at the Psychedelic Film and Music Festival in New York.
