Penn State Altoona Civil War history field trip set for Oct. 12

Students, faculty, and staff are invited on a one-day bus trip to explore iconic Civil War landmarks in Maryland and West Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The day includes motorcoach transportation and admission to Antietam National Battlefield and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, both sites of immeasurable importance and scenic grandeur.

ALTOONA, Pa. — Students, faculty, and staff are invited on a one-day bus trip to explore iconic Civil War landmarks in Maryland and West Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The day includes motorcoach transportation and admission to Antietam National Battlefield and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, both sites of immeasurable importance and scenic grandeur.

The bus will depart from the Hawthorn bus stop at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in room W116 of the Smith Building Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. This trip is made possible through the Land and Water Conservation Act Fund, a Penn State General Education Grant, individual contributions, and the Student Activity Fee.
