NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Peter Nusbaum, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, was recognized as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Golfer of the Week on Sept. 30, when the league office announced its weekly awards.
Nusbaum was the Lions’ top finisher at last weekend’s two-day Northeast Elite tournament at Williamsport Country Club, where Penn State Altoona came in sixth place out of 20 teams.
Nusbaum shot 1-over par in round one on Saturday, carding a 72. He followed that with an even-par 71 on Sunday, totaling 143 across two days to finish in a tie for 11th place out of 104 individuals in the tournament.
In eight rounds this season, Nusbaum is second on the Lions in scoring average, shooting 73.63 per round. This is his first AMCC Golfer of the Week award this season, and it is the fourth of his collegiate career.
Penn State Altoona men’s golf returns to action on Oct. 3, competing in the Grove City Invitational.
