ALTOONA, Pa. — Marissa Carney, Penn State Altoona's media relations coordinator, is one of 21 individuals who have been chosen for the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders' (ANAD) first "This Is My Brave" performance.

ANAD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free peer support services to those struggling with an eating disorder.

"This Is My Brave" will be performed live on stage at Northwestern University in Illinois and streamed online at 7 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, Feb. 27, during Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The event features a cast of 21 individuals sharing their lived experience with an eating disorder through song, dance, poetry, and spoken story.

Carney's pre-recorded part of the program includes her original choreographed piece "Recovery," which expresses her struggle with anorexia.

Tickets may be purchased online. This program is made possible through ANAD's partnership with This Is My Brave.
