Film by Penn State Altoona alumnus to premiere April 18

The film by Mark Frederick focuses on the history of Blair County and features interviews with Penn State Altoona faculty and staff

A documentary film produced and directed by Penn State Altoona graduate Mark Frederick will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Mishler Theatre in downtown Altoona. The documentary will be followed by a Q&A with Frederick and the film’s executive producer.

ALTOONA, Pa. — A documentary film produced and directed by Penn State Altoona graduate Mark Frederick will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Mishler Theatre in downtown Altoona. The documentary will be followed by a Q&A session with Frederick and the film’s executive producer.

"Blair County: A People's History" is a 90-minute film that includes interviews, re-enactments, rare photos and archival footage that traces the cultural influences of Blair County’s rich heritage. Penn State Altoona faculty Jared Frederick and Lindsay Keiter and Penn State Altoona staff member Harriett Gaston are among those interviewed for the film.

Frederick graduated from Penn State Altoona with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in history. He is the founder of Brush Mountain Media LLC.
