ALTOONA, Pa. — Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, was the featured speaker at the WISE Women of Blair County organization’s annual membership meeting held Oct. 18.
Murphy spoke on “The Power of Narrative” focusing on the narrative arts, narrative medicine, data storytelling, collaborative narrative projects, and narrative leadership, with particular emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
WISE Women of Blair County is a not-for-profit organization committed to supporting and recognizing efforts to empower women and eliminate racism through collaboration, service and education.
Murphy is the Poet Laureate of Blair County and author or editor of 13 books, including the forthcoming “Human Resources.” She is currently serving as Penn State’s inaugural Mellon Academic Leadership Fellow for the Big Ten Academic Alliance.
