ALTOONA, Pa. — Brian Black, distinguished professor of history and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona, recently delivered a lecture for the Hagley 2022 Fall Conference at the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware.

The conference theme was "Building Ecosystems/Selling Natures: At the Edge of Environments and Economies." As part of the Connecting Nature and Consumers panel, Black presented "Pumping Consumption: Petroleum Filling Stations and American Energy Dependence, 1880-present.”

The lecture papers will be published as a book by the University of Pennsylvania Press.
