Penn State Altoona’s Rail Transportation Engineering (RTE) degree program’s self-study was selected for display of well-prepared Self-Study Reports at the 2017 ABET Symposium.

ABET is the national accreditation organization for engineering programs. This was the first review of Penn State Altoona’s RTE program. The review takes approximately one year and begins with a self-study, done by the academic institution that outlines all of the RTE program and course objectives and outcomes. Penn State Altoona received a favorable review and its self-study will be recognized by ABET at its upcoming symposium. The Engineering Accreditation Committee of ABET will vote on the program this summer to accredit it.
