Poem by Penn State Altoona faculty member featured in the New York Times

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has been selected as the 2023 recipient of the Theodore Roethke Memorial Poetry Award from Saginaw Valley State University.

ALTOONA, Pa. — A poem by Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, was published in the "New York Times" online magazine and appeared in the June 7 print edition.

Selected for publication by Naomi Shihab Nye, "One Day, love song for the newly divorced" is included in Jabbeh Wesley's collection of poetry "Praise Song for My Children: New and Selected Poems," published by Autumn House Press in March 2020.
