ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona sophomore outfielder Peter Jacobs (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills West) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in baseball on Monday for his performance last week.
Jacobs had a big day at the plate in the Lions’ doubleheader sweep of new AMCC opponent Alfred State College on Friday afternoon.
In game one of the twinbill, Jacobs hit 1-for-2 with three runs scored and two walks. In game two, the sophomore went 4-for-5 with four runs batted in, three runs scored, one home run, and one double.
On the week, Jacobs hit .714 (5-for-7) with six runs scored, four RBI, two walks, one home run, and one double. This is his first career AMCC Player of the Week award.
Penn State Altoona baseball is 6-10 overall and 3-1 in the AMCC, and the Lions return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10 with a home doubleheader against conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg. First pitch of game one is set to happen at 1:00 p.m.
