Welcome to Penn State Altoona!
While our event offering for this weekend is entirely virtual, we believe the sentiment "you will get out of this experience what you put in" remains true. Bring positive energy, a willingness to be a little uncomfortable and try something new, and connect with your new classmates virtually!
When we suggest trying something new, maybe for you that means answering a question out loud, maybe it means turning your camera on, maybe it means sharing your social media accounts when prompted, or maybe it simply means you'll join via the link and check it out. Welcome Week offerings are designed as a "choose your own adventure" experience. Participate in the activities that are of interest to you or even just the ones that you are curious about. Friendly reminder: These events are for you if you are a first-time student at Penn State Altoona. It does not matter where you live!
Don't be afraid to reach out to a peer that you seem to have things in common with or follow up with one of the faculty/staff members you may meet virtually this weekend. We look forward to getting to know you and to supporting you on this journey. Your college experience starts Friday; be sure to actually participate in it!
Linked here you will find the Welcome Week schedule. Don't worry about printing the schedule. A printed copy will be provided when you check-in on campus.
