“Color Intaglio: Fauna, Flora, Figures,” a body of work by Ivyside Juried Art Exhibition winner Yuji Hiratsuka, will be on display from Sept. 12 through Oct. 25 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona.
Join members of The Penguin Project from Altoona Community Theatre as they perform excerpts from their favorite musical theatre songs. After the performance, Michele Dunleavy, Penn State professor of dance and the 2024 Penn State Laureate, will teach all in attendance some basic choreography.
Day of Dance brings students together in a collaborative environment where they can learn from one another and meet their peers from different studios and communities around the region.
Penn State Altoona will hold the Lunch and Life Hacks session “Meeting People and Navigating Relationships” from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center.
“Familiar Strands,” a body of work by Ivyside Juried Art Exhibition winner Zoraye Cyrus, will be on display from Sept. 12 through Oct. 24 in the McLanahan Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.
“In Her Shoes” helps participants shift their thinking about domestic violence and learn what it really means to support survivors, hold those who cause harm accountable, and envision a world devoid of violence and abuse.
Participants will explore Old Delhi, New Delhi City, Jaipur Market, and the Taj Mahal, as well as experience an evening safari through Ranthambore National Park.
The campus reading challenge is open to all Penn State Altoona students, faculty and staff. Those who sign up will have the option to set up a personal challenge and contribute to the overall campus goal of reading 150 books by Dec. 13.
Penn State Altoona will hold its annual "Spooktacular Science Show" on Saturday, Oct. 5. From 1 to 2 p.m., exciting and fun science demonstrations will take place in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. From 2 to 4 p.m., children can engage, play and learn through hands-on activities in the Hawthorn Building.
