Penn State Altoona has relaxation spaces on both the Ivyside and downtown campuses. The spaces include sensory items, massage chairs, oil diffusers, floor cushions, coloring books and pencils, weighted blankets, sand trays, and sound machines.
Penn State Altoona will offer a screening of the documentary "My Ascension" at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Fireside Lounge of the Slep Student Center.
Penn State Laureate Michele Dunleavy, professor of dance at the University Park campus, will visit Penn State Altoona, Beaver, Shenango and Behrend the week of Sept. 16 for class visits, performances and workshops. It will be the first leg of her tour across the commonwealth during the 2024–25 academic year.

Taking place from Sept. 7-11, 2025, the tour will be led by Jared Frederick, assistant teaching professor of history at Penn State Altoona. The immersive journey will take attendees through iconic sites of the American Civil War, including Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia; Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland; and several sections of the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.

The Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA) has announced a $20,000 matching commitment that will grow the scholarship endowment recently established in honor of 2024 Renaissance Fund honorees Roger Williams, retired PSAA executive director, and his wife, Karen Magnuson, retired assistant director of University marketing. In recognition of the Renaissance Fund’s 55th anniversary, the PSAA will match gifts of $550 or more to any named Renaissance Fund with an equal contribution to the Roger L. Williams and Karen L. Magnuson Renaissance Fund.
