Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has been invited to serve as the guest writer to open Carlow University’s 2025 Master of Fine Arts Dual Residency Program in Creative Writing.

Penn State Altoona's University Jazz Band will perform at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.14, in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Musical selections in a variety of contemporary big band styles will be performed.

The funding will establish the Rail Center for Research Enhancing Short-line Transportation (Rail CREST), an initiative aimed at developing and deploying affordable technologies to improve the safety, efficiency, reliability and sustainability of short line and regional railroads. Penn State Altoona’s Ivyside Pride choral group will offer its fall performance, “Joy,” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 and 6 in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The concert features classical, gospel, folk and contemporary selections, as well as African American spirituals.
