"How Else Can I Tell You," a body of work by Sophie Brenneman, will be on display from Feb. 13 through April 3 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
A pair of Penn State Altoona student-athletes swept the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s weekly men’s volleyball awards on Feb. 3 as outside hitter Jack McKenna, of Manahawkin, New Jersey, was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week and libero Adam Chan, of Framingham, Massachusetts, was chosen as its Defensive Player of the Week.

The annual African American Read-in at Penn State Altoona will take place on Monday, Feb. 24. This year’s theme is Young Readers. Events include the “Monday Marathon,” a keynote presentation by Shanetia P. Clark, and a community program at the Railroad City Cultural Center in downtown Altoona.
A collaboration between Penn State and Shell USA Inc. is supporting efforts across the University’s mission of research, education and community impact. An initial commitment from Shell of more than $1 million is funding initiatives focused on energy transition, decarbonization, polymer recycling and biodiversity.
Penn State Altoona will hold the annual Altoona Benefiting THON Silent Auction on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Slep Student Center. All proceeds go to Altoona Benefiting THON.
C. David Kimmel will present about the early years of Penn State Altoona, using archival photos and his first-hand account as a student and the first director of development from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Two award-winning poems by Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, were selected among the editor’s picks by Kwame Dawes, Managing Editor of Prairie Schooner. Her poetry was also recently featured in Mistake House Magazine's "Soap Bubble Set" and Brittle Paper Magazine.
