CONTACT Altoona
- Host a helpline and reassurance line for residents of Blair County.
- Hosts training for volunteers once per semester in the evenings (are open to providing additional training sessions if needed).
- These are becoming accredited, so can be a line on a resume/CV.
- Students can sign up for phone shifts that can be as frequent/infrequent as desired, daily 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.

The Arc
- Provide programming and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, delays or other forms of neurodivergence.
- Students can visit on evenings/weekends, and eventually prepare their own programming for Arc visitors.
- May be especially useful for students interested in ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Blair County
- Typical requires “bigs” to visit with “littles” about twice per month, depending on the pairs’ schedule.
- Offers support for planning events, requires no money to be spent on the part of the volunteer.
- Best for our students interested in working with folks under 18.
