Carolyn Mahan, professor of biology and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council for Hunting, Fishing, and Conservation will talk about chronic wasting disease on November 16, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in 150 Hawthorn Building. A thirty-minute question and answer session will follow.
Mahan will explain what causes chronic wasting disease (CWD), how it spreads, its effects on white-tailed deer, and its implications to hunters. She will also describe state resources available for hunters and ways in which CWD is being monitored and managed in Pennsylvania. The talk is free and open to the public.
